American Football and Turnstile's Brendan Yates have joined forces on the latest track from the band's upcoming self-titled fourth album, 'No Feeling'. This collaboration showcases a unique blend of styles, with Yates' distinctive vocals adding a layer of complexity to the midwest emo sound. The song explores themes of self-destruction and the loss of meaning, with a rich harmony that contrasts the often tense and confessional lyrics of frontman Mike Kinsella. The music video, directed by Cady Buche & Travis Barron, features 'hallucinogenic animation' and 'ghost-like creatures' aboard a sunken ship, adding a surreal and symbolic element to the song's narrative. The album, due out May 1st via Polyvinyl, delves into the harsh realities of life and the disorientation, compromise, grief, and hard-won perspective of middle age. American Football will be on tour starting in mid-May, with a focus on supporting immigrants' rights by donating $1 from every ticket sold to Safe Passage International and The Illinois Coalition for Immigration & Refugee Rights.
