A parent's worst nightmare unfolded in Kampala recently as a six-year-old child vanished, allegedly taken by the family's domestic worker. This heart-wrenching incident has spurred an active police investigation, leaving the community in suspense.
The details are unsettling. On December 12, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., in the Ddungu Zone of Kisaasi, Kawempe Division, a young boy named Mpirwe Tumwesigye Abraham, the son of Dr. Tumwesigye Emmanuel, a city medical practitioner, disappeared. The prime suspect is Muchunguzi David, the 'shamba boy' or domestic worker employed by the family. He is also a resident of the same area. Police reports indicate that Muchunguzi left the home with the child around the same time and has not been seen since.
The case has been reported as a kidnapping at the Universal Police Post, and statements from witnesses have been recorded. The Kira Road Division Police are now handling the investigation, working tirelessly to locate the missing child and apprehend the suspect. But here's where it gets controversial... The police are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help in the search.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, SP Racheal Kawala, emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, "Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect or the victim is urged to contact the nearest police station." As of the time of this report, the child's location remains unknown, adding to the growing anxiety and concern.
And this is the part most people miss... The Uganda Police Force is putting all its resources to find the child and the suspect.
