The Unique Girard-Perregaux Bridges Cosmos: A Celestial Masterpiece (2026)

Bold claim: The Girard-Perregaux Bridges Cosmos returns as a singular, unrepeatable piece that redefines what a celestial-inspired watch can be. The Bridges Cosmos first appeared in 2019 as a bold fusion of mechanical prowess and philosophical wonder. It linked the heavens with the earth in a tangible way: a tourbillon centerpiece complemented by two rotating globes that depict sidereal and civil time, effectively a miniature planetarium on the wrist. In 2025, GP presents a Unique Piece that reinterprets the original with fresh materials and refined surface finishes.

This new Bridges Cosmos Unique Piece preserves the original’s construction, complications, and in-house GP09320 movement. What changes is the aesthetic, and in watches like this, that aesthetic shift often matters as much as any technical update.

The titanium case keeps its 47mm diameter and 22.2mm thickness. Notably, there is no crown; four functional rotating bows (bélières) on the caseback take care of winding, setting the time, and globe synchronization. Each bow is marked with a luminescent pictogram indicating its function—a practical touch that was missing on the first Cosmos but appeared in later iterations. A sapphire box crystal protects the domed dial, while a semi-circular sapphire caseback reveals the winding mechanism. The engraving confirms its status as a unique piece. The watch remains water-resistant to 30 meters.

Visually, the dial stays true to Cosmos but adopts a two-part composition: a base of Tahitian mother-of-pearl overlaid with translucent blue aventurine. At six o’clock sits the one-minute tourbillon, anchored by a sandblasted titanium Neo Bridge.

The celestial zodiac globe on the left orbits once every 23 hours, 56 minutes, and 4 seconds—the length of a sidereal day. Opposite it, on the right, the terrestrial globe completes a 24-hour rotation, acting as a day/night indicator with daytime visible on the dial side and nighttime visible through the back. Both globes are titanium, finished with laser-oxidized texture and treated with lume for blue glow in the dark. Time is read from a dedicated black sandblasted dial at 12 o’clock, featuring a sunray-brushed outer ring with white-gold markers and dauphine hands highlighted with blue Super-LumiNova.

The GP09320 caliber—first used in the 2019 Cosmos and later seen in the Infinity editions, Hour Glass specials, and now this Unique Piece— comprises 368 components with 52 jewels. It runs at 21,600 vph and delivers a 57-hour power reserve. Finishing shows haute horlogerie quality: sandblasted titanium bridges with hand-beveled edges, a circular-grained mainplate, and black-polished screws.

The watch is paired with an anthracite calfskin strap finished in nubuck and hand-stitched, secured by a titanium triple-folding clasp with a quick-release system. This is a unique piece, and pricing is available on request. By way of reference, earlier limited editions were priced just under EUR 400,000. For more details, visit girard-perregaux.com.
